Brown Water!

Have you ever encounter that you see Brown Water; when you first open any faucet. If you had, you probably replaced all of your old “galvanized” plumbing in your entire house! But if still persist, it could be that some” galvanized” fittings were left, some were along the plumbing system!

There are hard places to go in and replace some fittings,often not done by plumbers, because the owner will not notice.

Also all of the shout off valves must also be change!,make sure they are replace with “ball cocks” type shout off valves,this particular valves do not require any maintenance. If you have low pressure (mostly houses that were build before 1980), one of the causes is that corrosion has build inside the water line pipes and therefore the space inside the pipe has became smaller and smaller, until it closed completely; or they star leaking.

Ways, for the home owner to identified “galvanized” pipe:

- the outside color is almost silver like
- if you see corrosion signs (brown color like) at the tread area

The cause of “galvanized” problems, must likely be at the Hot water line!

Almost forgot! about the “galvanized”,at your drainage, they get corroded mostly at fitting connections, looked for troubling spots, like your kitchen sink, look at fitting that comes out of the wall, most likely it’s leaking or it will leak!
